All Hospitality projects/transactions in Japan are led by our Hotels team in cooperation with selected Japan-based locally qualified lawyers with deep local experience.
Withers Hotels team advised on a number of leading hospitality transactions in Japan, both capital and HMA/lease deals, and currently advises on 2 ultra-luxury mixed-use projects with hotel and branded residences components subject to rental pool.
Prior to Withers Lada has spent several years in Dubai working in the Hospitality practice of the largest regional law firm, covering the hospitality projects across the entire Middle East region.
Lada regularly speaks at industry conferences in Singapore, Hong Kong, Bangkok, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Seoul, and across the entire SEA region.

Hotelier, mentor, project leader and design enthusiast, coupled with 35 years of hospitality experience has lead me too an exciting chapter at Sun Hospitality Group (SHG) part of Sun Group, The creation of SHG further focuses on business tourism and development of Sun Group and the continuation of sustainable growth being the key for the company. With our portfolio increasing, we have been developing a hotel management company under the SHG umbrella which we will launch in the not too distant future.

Developing strategies to achieve the ownership investment objectives
Creating strategic direction for new Hotel Management division
Establishing highly effective teams
Participation in the selection of Hotel Management companies
With more than 25 years in South East Asia, I have been at the forefront of the hospitality in emerging markets and it has become my specialty and the challenges it brings, this has driven me to innovate and bring a new definition to the phrase “think outside the box”
The talent search is a key area and the mentoring on future Hoteliers is a top priority. I believe the creation of SHG has allowed the team and I to put all this in practice and make a difference to Vietnam’s evolution in the field.
Actively involved in numerous industry organizations including the International Wine & Food Society. Other professional affiliations include Confrèrie de La Chaîne des Rotisseurs and Commanderie de Bordeaux.
Also invited to contribute in the book “EQ & Leadership in Asia” on using emotional intelligence to lead and inspire people, written by Sebastien Henry.

Mark van Ogtrop is Director at Beacon Sky Hospitality, which is hospitality advisory firm covering South East Asia specializing in asset management , project development, finance advisory, market research and feasibility work for the hospitality sector with offices in Bangkok and Phuket. Beacon Sky Hospitality also is partner in developing senior living communities and retirement villages.
Until recently Mark was Managing Director and Sr. VP for South East Asia at “Louvre Hotels Group” and “Golden Tulip Hotels”, part of Jin Jang Hotels.In his role he was responsible for the operation and development of the 5 brands of the Louvre Hotels Group in the ASEAN region.
He started up the company Golden Tulip Hotels South East Asia with regional offices in Bangkok and Jakarta and successfully opened and operated a portfolio of over 30 hotels in the region.
Mark has over 35 years of international hotel experience in the areas of operation of hotels, project development, opening of hotels, repositioning of hotels and experience in all hotel disciplines.He has worked in 3 different continents in over 10 countries throughout his career of which the latter 20 years in South East Asia.
Prior to working with Louvre Hotels Group Mark was Area Manager & VP for Dorint Hotels in Brussels and he held furthermore General Manager positions and senior management positions with prestigious groups incl : - Dusit Thani Hotels both in Bangkok and Phuket; - Accor Hotels in Brussels; The Peninsula Group in Hong Kong and in Beverly Hills; Golden Tulip Hotels in New York and Sheraton Hotels in Boston.
